41 years of making science make sense
Physical science teacher, demonstrator and builder.
Bruce Yeany taught physical science for 41 years before retiring in 2018. Along the way he figured out that the fastest route to understanding is a surprise: something on the table that shouldn't work, but does. So he built them. Hundreds of them, mostly from bottles, cups, string, cardboard and whatever was in the garage.
Those demonstrations became Homemade Science with Bruce Yeany on YouTube: more than 250 videos, 320,000 subscribers and 65 million views. Teachers use them in class, families use them at home, and plenty of grown-ups just like watching them.
This site turns the videos into projects you can build yourself. Every page has Bruce's video, a list of what you need, step-by-step instructions, what to look for, and the science explained two ways: one for kids and one for the grown-ups.
